The American Academy of Spine Physicians (AASP) has developed the affiliations and technology to offer a Career Enhancement Initiative for general and candidate members. This includes access to resources for finding employment and navigating career transitions. The Initiative was also designed to help employers identify qualified spine specialists for their programs. This is important, especially, with the transition towards larger integrated healthcare groups and networked healthcare systems.

The AASP Career Enhancement Initiative will incorporate leading-edge programming and internet technology to provide members, candidate members and new graduates with effective networking resources. This will include an online career board which will serves as the foundation for the development of a full service career center. Employers and job seekers will be able to post opportunities, make inquires, direct offers, search databases and receive emails right from their desktops.

Additional benefits will include personalized career guidance services such as resume critiques, career advising, resume and cover letter services, and disclosure of salary negotiation considerations.

The AASP is committed to working with other associations to help facilitate a nationwide “match-making” function. The integration of online career boards will help create a broad interactive database of jobs and resumes which will help shape the future of spinecare and spinecare facilites. This new service is projected to be available within 30-60 days.
