GOOD TURNOUT AT SYMPOSIUM
The American Academy of Spine Physicians (AASP), cosponsored a two day symposium titled Management of Spine Disorders: Bridging the Gap in Patient Care, on November 3rd and 4th. There was an excellent turnout for the event. The multidisciplinary symposium was sponsored by the Ohio State Chiropractic Association, the Cleveland Clinic, the National University of Health Sciences, Drs Hill & Thomas and the AASP. Speakers included Dr. Ed Benzel, neurosurgeon at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr George Dohrmann, neurosurgeon at the University of Chicago and Dr David Durrant, chiropractic neurologist at the Chicago Neuroscience Institute, all distinguished members of the AASP Academy Council. Participants received 12 continuing education hours/ credits. A notebook with the speakers course notes and journal references were provided to all participants.
The program provided relevant and timely information about spinecare. The speakers provided up-to-date methods of evaluating and treating spine conditions. The speakers also discussed current trends in spinecare and what the future will bring. This program set the stage for future programs in Ohio. Dr David Radford, chiropractic physican and member of the AASP, was instrumental in the success of the program.
