TOOLS TO HELP YOU BUILD YOUR REGIONAL SPINECARE REFERRAL NETWORK

The American Academy of Spine Physicians (AASP) is dedicated to facilitating the development of regional spinecare networks to promote interdisciplinary referral and continuity of care.  To help accomplish this, the AASP has developed a variety of new resources to help promote the team approach to spinecare.  For example, a new service was developed this month for neurosurgeons that have joined the American Academy of Spine Physicians (AASP).

A designated member of the AASP team has been assigned to researching the names and contact information of chiropractic members of the AASP who may be practicing near neurosurgical members. Each member will receive notice of the new member’s status in their area and an invitation to contact the neurosurgical member.

The AASP has developed an online resource refered to as the “Spinecare Referral Network.”  The AASP helps introduce you to chiropractic physicians or neurosurgeons in your area. This "matchmaking" service is FREE to members of the AASP.  The AASP programming team is working on further automating the neurosurgeon and chiropractic physician “matchmaking” process to render it more effective.  One of the greatest benefits of membership is receiving referrals and obtaining the opportunity to work with a colleague to provide care for the individual with a spine disorder.
